Woven by hand on traditional wooden looms in Peru, the Kulsi Collection celebrates the refined skill and cultural legacy of Andean master weavers. Every throw is created with exceptional precision, blending age-old craftsmanship with a clean, modern sensibility.
Each piece is made from a naturally sustainable mix of undyed light tan alpaca and premium Peruvian Pima cotton. The alpaca’s warm, organic tan tones remain completely natural, while the Pima cotton adds a silky, soft touch. Together, they form a mid-weight textile that feels luxuriously smooth, breathable, and perfectly suited for use throughout the year.
A beautifully textured handwoven pattern gives the throw depth and character, while the hand-tied fringe adds a refined finishing touch—expressing the individuality and artistry of the maker. From start to finish, every detail reflects a commitment to preserving traditional weaving techniques and bringing meaningful, heritage-rich textiles into contemporary homes.
At Purple Nest Design, we take pride in supporting artisan communities and offering pieces that honor their stories and craftsmanship.
Made with 68% undyed baby alpaca and 32% Peruvian Pima cotton.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Who makes this?
Handloomed on traditional wooden looms by master weavers in the highlands of Peru.
Is alpaca itchy?
No. Alpaca has no lanolin and a smoother fiber than wool, so most people who find wool scratchy find alpaca soft.
How is alpaca different from wool or cashmere?
Alpaca is warmer than wool for its weight, yet light and breathable thanks to its hollow fiber, so it works year-round. It is also stronger than cashmere: cashmere is soft but delicate, while alpaca gives you softness that lasts for years with simple care.
